India's air quality regulator has relaxed a clean fuel rule for delivery and cab fleets, despite acknowledging transport emissions as a major contributor to pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). The rollback occurs as the regulator itself notes the significant and consistent impact of transport sector emissions on NCR's air quality, particularly during winter months. This decision comes as an expert panel is being set up to accelerate the shift to electric vehicles.
