Mumbai BJP Proposes CSR Dashboard to Enhance Transparency in BMC Purchases

Mumbai BJP President MLA Ameet Satam has proposed that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) create a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dashboard on its website. This platform would list public welfare requirements like school supplies and hospital equipment for 15 days, allowing philanthropic organizations and citizens to contribute before tenders are floated. Satam suggests this could enhance transparency, reduce alleged corruption in the Central Purchase Department, and save the BMC between Rs 500 crore and Rs 1,000 crore annually.
