Lt Gen Pushpendra Pal Singh to Lead Western Command; Lt Gen Dheeraj Seth Named Vice Chief

Lieutenant General Pushpendra Pal Singh, currently Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), will become General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Western Command at the end of March, succeeding Lieutenant General M K Katiyar. Concurrently, Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, Southern Army Commander, will assume the VCOAS role on April 1. Other leadership changes include Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan as Eastern Army Commander and Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain as Southern Army Commander. Lt Gen Singh has a distinguished military career with diverse command experience and recently awarded Unit Citations to Indian Army units for exemplary service in sensitive border areas.
