
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone for the Mahakal Mahatirtha temple in Siliguri's Matigara area, announcing plans for the world's tallest Mahakal idol, featuring a 108-feet bronze statue within a 216-feet-high structure. The temple complex will span 17.41 acres, accommodate up to 100,000 visitors daily, and include cultural facilities.
