Ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, several constituencies including Raniganj, Dum Dum, Domjur, Baruipur Paschim, and Naihati are preparing under the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision to update electoral rolls. These general seats, part of various Lok Sabha constituencies, saw Trinamool Congress candidates winning in 2021 by margins ranging from around 3,500 to 60,000 votes.
