Borge Brende, president and CEO of the World Economic Forum since 2017, announced his resignation following disclosures from the U.S. Justice Department revealing his attendance at three business dinners with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and communications via email and text. The WEF launched an independent review into Brende's ties, which found no additional concerns beyond prior disclosures. Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim CEO while the Board oversees the leadership transition and search for a permanent successor.
