
After over 200 hours of a nationwide internet shutdown amid widespread protests in Iran, internet connectivity has slightly improved to about 2% of normal levels, according to monitoring group NetBlocks. The protests, which began over economic grievances and evolved into calls against the theocratic regime, have reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths. Some local reports indicate partial restoration of internet and SMS services, particularly in areas like Karaj, which experienced intense unrest.
