The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has approved a plan to modernize five major bus terminals in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Patiala, and Bathinda through a structured Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar highlighted that these terminals, handling up to 100,000 daily passengers, are key for regional and inter-state connectivity. The upgrades will focus on improving passenger amenities, safety, accessibility, and traffic management using DBFOT or BOT frameworks to combine private efficiency with public oversight.
