The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is advancing its water security plans by inviting bids for a 7.05-kilometer underground tunnel. This tunnel will transport desalinated water from the new Manori plant to Kandivali, benefiting western suburbs like Borivali, Malad, and Goregaon. Designed to carry 400 million liters per day with standby capacity, the tunnel will connect to the existing distribution network, addressing rising water demand in Mumbai.
