The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, reported significant progress in welfare schemes for Backward Classes during 2025. Initiatives focused on education, social security, and digital empowerment reached numerous beneficiaries. The Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes disbursed over 323 crore to more than 1.27 million students in 2025 alone. The Marriage Grant Scheme provided 144.59 crore to over 72,000 daughters from Backward Classes. Over nine years, cumulative scholarship support exceeded 13,858 crore for over 22 million students.
