
Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, a key figure in India's independence movement, is remembered for his contributions to education and national unity. Born in 1861 in Prayagraj, he founded Banaras Hindu University in 1916, integrating modern and traditional Indian values. Malaviya, who served as president of the Indian National Congress three times, also founded the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha and the influential newspaper 'The Leader'. He was posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna.
