Jaishankar Visits Brussels to Advance India-EU Trade Deal and Discuss West Asia Issues

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar began a two-day visit to Brussels to engage with foreign ministers of the 27 European Union member states and EU leadership. The visit follows the historic 16th India-EU Summit and aims to advance the recently concluded India-EU Free Trade Agreement, expected to take effect in January 2027 after legal and parliamentary processes. Discussions will also address the implications of ongoing West Asia conflicts on energy security and maritime safety, alongside bilateral and strategic partnership matters.
