India is advancing its indigenous unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) and loitering munition programs to enhance autonomous strike capabilities. The Defence Procurement Board has recommended procuring 60 DRDO-developed Ghatak stealth combat drones designed for deep-strike missions. Concurrently, Bengaluru-based startup Newspace Research Technologies is developing the Sheshnaag-150, a long-range swarm attack drone with autonomous coordination and GPS-denied navigation, aimed at providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional missiles. Both programs reflect India's focus on integrating unmanned systems into its future force structure amid evolving global drone warfare trends.
