The 18th All India Conference of CITU passed resolutions condemning the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, asserting it repeals and mutilates the MGNREGA. CITU General Secretary Tapan Sen stated the new act turns a statutory right into a discretionary scheme, burdens states, and undermines federalism. The conference also condemned the BJP government's Labour Codes as an attack on workers' rights, citing the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant's continued public ownership due to worker agitations.
