The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of responsibility for the death of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan stated Zia entered prison in 2018 and emerged seriously ill due to prolonged incarceration and denial of overseas medical treatment. Khan asserted Hasina's government is responsible for Zia's deteriorating health and eventual death, citing medical experts who noted her condition worsened due to restricted treatment abroad. Zia, a prominent political figure, led the BNP for 41 years.
