BJP Retains Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations Amid NCP's Campaign Efforts

In the recent Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) retained control, leading in 48 wards in Pune and 65 in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Ajit Pawar and allied with Sharad Pawar's faction, secured fewer wards despite campaign promises like free public transport. Voter turnout was 52.42% in Pune and 57.71% in Pimpri-Chinchwad, reflecting moderate electoral participation.
