The vehicle of Election Commission's Special Roll Observer C. Murugan was damaged and gheraoed by protestors in Magrahat, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Agitators, primarily women, alleged "unplanned implementation" of the SIR exercise, forcing ill, aged, and pregnant electors to attend hearings. Some protestors also demanded the presence of party Booth Level Agents. The observer reported the incident to the Chief Electoral Officer, stating his commitment to completing his duty despite the disruption. The SIR hearing process has faced multiple stalls across the state.
