Supreme Court Orders 30% Women Representation in Punjab and Haryana Bar Council Elections

The bench clarified this applies as the election process has not formally started, with only the final voter list published. This direction revises an earlier order exempting these elections from reservation due to their commencement status. The court also sought input from the Attorney General and Additional Solicitor General on increasing elected members in state bar councils amid rising advocate numbers.
