Italian authorities have arrested nine individuals suspected of financing Hamas through charities, in an operation coordinated by anti-mafia and anti-terrorism units. Prosecutors in Genoa allege that approximately 7 million euros, raised for humanitarian purposes over two years, were diverted to Hamas-linked entities. Police seized assets exceeding 8 million euros. The investigation, involving cooperation with Dutch authorities and coordinated by Eurojust, was praised by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The arrests occur amidst ongoing protests in Italy against Meloni's pro-Israel stance during the Gaza conflict.
