Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani has directed officials to strictly enforce law and order during New Year celebrations on December 31 and January 1. He emphasized installing and checking CCTV cameras at sensitive locations, maintaining vigilance in crowded areas, and promptly addressing any incidents. Subhani also stressed ensuring adequate arrangements for the cold wave, including fire for the needy and sufficient blankets and medical staff in hospitals. The Director General of Police, Vinay Kumar, instructed police to be alert for increased liquor and drug consumption, despite Bihar being a dry state, and to monitor biker gangs and pilgrimage sites.
