The Delhi High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation filed by the NGO Save India Foundation challenging a 1980 notification by the Delhi Waqf Board that declared three mosques in Jahangirpuri as Sunni Waqf properties. The petitioner alleged the land was government-acquired in 1977 and the constructions were illegal encroachments. The court found the petition lacked bona fide intent, was time-barred, and emphasized protecting the integrity of PILs against frivolous challenges to decades-old notifications.
