The Bihar Assembly passed four Bills, including the Bihar Civil Court Bill, 2026, which replaces the British-era Bengal, Agra, and Assam Civil Court Act of 1887 to better suit the state's current needs. The new law allows consultation with the Patna High Court for appointing lower court judges. Amendments were also made to the Bihar Technical Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, and Municipal Bodies Acts to expand applicability, enhance local governance powers, and promote transparency in municipal committees.
