Resident doctors at IGMC Shimla are protesting the termination of Dr. Raghav Nirula, a senior resident, following a physical altercation with a patient that was captured on video. The Himachal Pradesh government terminated Dr. Nirula's services after an inquiry committee found both parties at fault. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) announced a mass casual leave on December 26 and threatened a strike from December 27 if demands for Dr. Nirula's reinstatement are not met. They also seek an FIR against an individual who allegedly threatened the doctor and action for property damage.
