
The Maharashtra government has initiated an AI-driven project to enhance freshwater fish production by mapping ponds and collecting accurate data, particularly in Vidarbha and Marathwada. Collaborating with a private partner, the initiative aims to improve planning and support for fish farmers. The state, currently ranked 16th nationally, plans to boost output through desilting lakes and launching the Chief Minister Matsyasampada Yojana with over 1,000 crore in funding and multiple schemes.
