The Delhi High Court has allowed the continuation of disciplinary proceedings against IRS officer Sameer Wankhede related to the 2021 Cordelia cruise drug case. The court set aside a Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) order that had quashed the charge memorandum issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, which accused Wankhede of unauthorized access to confidential information and attempting to influence the investigation after his detachment from the Narcotics Control Bureau. Wankhede had challenged the inquiry, citing procedural flaws, while the government maintained the charges were valid.
