Sons of Established Politicians Win Seats in 2026 Pimpri-Chinchwad Civic Elections

In the 2026 Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, Siddharth Bansode, son of Maharashtra MLA Anna Bansode, won a closely contested seat in Ward No. 9 after initially trailing BJP's Kamlesh Walke by six votes. The ward featured 11 candidates from multiple parties. Alongside Bansode, Vishwajeet Barne, son of Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne, also secured a corporator position, marking the political debut of both from established families despite earlier nepotism criticisms.
