The Dalshingpara tea estate in Alipurduar district is set to reopen on January 2, following a tripartite meeting between the state labour department, management, and worker representatives. The garden, closed since October 2023 due to bonus payment disputes, will resume operations with nearly 1,200 workers returning to duty. Management agreed to clear pending bonus dues soon after reopening, with phased disbursement for 2024 and 2025. Workers had been receiving financial assistance, though payments reportedly stopped recently, prompting protests.
