Suspected rebel drones attacked Kisangani airport in eastern Congo on Sunday, with four kamikaze drones intercepted and shot down near the airport as a passenger plane prepared to land. The rebel group AFC M23, which controls parts of eastern Congo, claimed the operation aimed to neutralize drones targeting civilians and their positions. No damage or casualties were reported. Fighting continues in the region despite mediation efforts, and Congo's army recently killed an AFC M23 spokesperson in a drone strike.
