Chhattisgarh Reports Recovery of 989 Weapons from Maoists Over Six Years

Chhattisgarh's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma informed the state assembly that 989 weapons, including AK-47s, INSAS, and SLR rifles, were recovered from Maoists between January 2020 and January 2026. These weapons were seized from killed, surrendered, and arrested Maoists. Additionally, 48 weapons were looted by Maoists from security forces between 2019 and early 2026, with no such incidents reported in 2025 and 2026 so far. During this period, 4,340 Maoists surrendered, 3,644 were arrested, and 666 were killed, with intensified operations in the Bastar region over the past two years.
