PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has voiced serious concerns regarding potential reductions in apple import duties under proposed Free Trade Agreements with Europe, the United States, and Chile. She warned that such tariff cuts could harm Jammu and Kashmir's apple economy and the livelihoods of millions. Mufti cited a previous duty reduction with New Zealand as already damaging to domestic producers. She urged the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister to intervene with the central government to protect growers' interests.
