The Election Commission (EC) is considering deploying Central forces to protect special observers in West Bengal following disruptions and attacks during hearings. TMC workers reportedly disrupted three hearings over the EC's decision regarding Booth Level Assistants. One observer's convoy was attacked, and another was gheraoed. A Deputy Election Commissioner noted discrepancies in the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) process, including mapping multiple individuals to the same parent, and directed immediate action.
