Egyptian-British activist Alaa Abd el-Fattah has apologized for past social media posts made between 2008 and 2014, which included endorsements of violence and offensive remarks. Counter-terrorism police are reviewing the posts following public referrals. Abd el-Fattah stated that while some tweets were misunderstood, others were unacceptable expressions of youthful anger. His apology comes after his arrival in Britain and obtaining citizenship. Political figures, including Nigel Farage and Kemi Badenoch, have called for his deportation or consideration of it, while Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office condemned the comments.
