Assam has significantly improved its justice system, resolving approximately 95% of registered FIRs and doubling its conviction rate to 50% in 2025. Special Director General of Police Munna Prasad Gupta attributed this success to enhanced investigation monitoring, officer accountability, and the implementation of new criminal laws. Key reforms include mandatory forensic involvement at crime scenes, a focus on victim rights and timely justice delivery, and the introduction of electronic and zero FIRs for easier complaint lodging.
