The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following an incident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where Bajrang Dal members allegedly attacked two Muslim youths at a cafe. AAP accused Bajrang Dal of being a "poisonous branch" of the BJP, creating terror and tarnishing the Hindu religion. They also criticized UP police for allegedly harassing victims instead of taking action against the attackers. Police stated they intervened, assured a probe into alleged "love jihad," and detained the youths.
