The All India Imam Association has demanded action against Devkinandan Thakur for his remarks criticizing Shah Rukh Khan's decision to include a Bangladeshi player in his IPL team, KKR. Association President Maulana Sajid Rashidi stated that sports and films transcend borders and praised Khan's charitable work. Rashidi also drew parallels between alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and targeted attacks on Muslims in India. Thakur had previously condemned Khan, citing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and questioning Khan's inclusion of a player from that country.
