Nepal's interim government commission will summon former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli for clarification regarding the use of force during the September 8-9 Gen Z protests. The protests resulted in at least 19 youth deaths from police firing in Kathmandu and a nationwide toll of 77. Human Rights Watch alleges disproportionate force was used. Oli, whose government was ousted due to the unrest, has questioned the commission's legitimacy and stated he will not appear. The commission aims to submit its report by January 21.
