Tamil Nadu Credits Special Financial Aid to Over 37 Lakh Marginalized Beneficiaries Ahead of Elections

Ahead of Tamil Nadu's Assembly elections, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced a special financial relief package crediting Rs 2,000 alongside March pensions to over 37 lakh marginalized beneficiaries, including elderly citizens, widows, transgender individuals, and persons with disabilities. The total assistance ranges from Rs 3,200 to Rs 8,000, covering 29.29 lakh pensioners, 5.92 lakh differently-abled persons, 2.58 lakh families receiving maintenance allowances, 1.62 lakh fishing households during the fishing ban, and 14,870 Nilgiris tea farmers receiving price support. This move follows a similar earlier disbursement to over 1.3 crore women under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam scheme, aiming to alleviate financial hardships amid rising living costs.
