Deposed Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strongly criticized the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus, accusing it of "unspeakable atrocities" against religious minorities. Speaking on Christmas, Hasina alleged the current administration, which she claims seized power illegally, is interfering with religious freedom and setting "horrific precedents such as burning religious minorities to death." She recalled Bangladesh's history of communal harmony and expressed hope that the Christmas spirit would foster greater unity among communities.
