Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Take Action Over Paddy Procurement Irregularities

State authorities in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have taken strict actions against irregularities in paddy procurement during the current Kharif marketing season. In Chhattisgarh, 31 officials were suspended, one employee terminated, and FIRs filed over fake procurement and shortages across 12 districts, with rice mills sealed and paddy seized. In Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district, two procurement agencies were blacklisted for two years for procuring poor-quality paddy and documentation lapses, while others received warnings. Both states emphasize zero tolerance and ongoing monitoring to ensure transparency.
