Police Raid Abhishek Banerjee's Kolkata Residence in Financial Fraud Investigation
In a pre-dawn operation on June 13, police and central forces raided the Kolkata residence of Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee for over four hours. The search, linked to an alleged financial fraud and land scam case registered in Paschim Medinipur's Salboni Police Station, involved attempts to locate Banerjee's personal assistant Sumit Roy, who is wanted in an extortion case. The TMC alleged police forcibly broke a lock to enter, while Mamata Banerjee visited the site amid the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not disclosed further details.
