Police Raid Abhishek Banerjee's Kolkata Residence in Connection with Paschim Medinipur Case
In a pre-dawn operation on June 13, police and central forces raided the Kolkata residence of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee for over four hours. The search, linked to a case filed in Paschim Medinipur district, focused on allegations involving Banerjee's personal assistant Sumit Roy, accused of accepting money for promising party election tickets. Banerjee alleged police broke a lock to enter, while the TMC chief Mamata Banerjee visited the site during the operation. Authorities have not detailed the investigation publicly.
