The Indian Navy will commission INS Anjadip, the third vessel in the eight-ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) project, on February 27, 2026, at Chennai Port. Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata, Anjadip is designed for littoral operations to detect, track, and neutralise enemy submarines using indigenous weapons and sensors, including the Hull Mounted Sonar Abhay. The 77-meter warship, capable of speeds up to 25 knots, also supports coastal surveillance, low-intensity maritime operations, and search and rescue missions, enhancing India's maritime security along key coastal regions.
