Punjab Marks One Year of 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' Anti-Drug Campaign

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann marked the first anniversary of the 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' anti-drug campaign, highlighting its impact in dismantling drug networks and enforcing strict action against traffickers. From March 2025 to February 2026, over 36,000 FIRs were filed, 51,600 arrests made, and significant quantities of heroin and intoxicant tablets seized. The campaign also recovered Rs 16.70 crore and properties linked to traffickers. The conviction rate under the NDPS Act improved to around 88 percent in 2025, reflecting enhanced prosecution efforts.
