
Since September 2024, Mizoram has collected over Rs 93.37 crore from a Rs 4-per-litre levy on petrol and diesel, introduced alongside increased VAT rates. The revenue is allocated equally between social infrastructure and road maintenance. Chief Minister Lalduhoma reported that funds have supported health, education, and social welfare departments, with specific allocations for education and health sectors, and Rs 15 crore designated for road upkeep in the current financial year.
