The Ajit Pawar-led NCP has decided to contest the upcoming BMC elections independently, planning to field candidates in approximately 100 seats. The party released its first list of 37 candidates, notably including three members of senior leader Nawab Malik's family. This solo approach was approved by party leadership, with some candidates switching from the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction.
