India's central government has released draft rules for new labor codes, proposing a revised method for calculating minimum wages. The proposed calculation considers a standard working-class family's needs, including food, clothing, housing, fuel, and other essentials like education and healthcare. These draft rules, open for public feedback, also address weekly working hours, trade union recognition, and establish a National Social Security Board for gig and platform workers.
