A report by the Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities (HRCBM) documented at least 71 to 73 incidents linked to blasphemy allegations against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh between June and December 2025. These cases, spread across over 30 districts, often involved mob violence, vandalism, police action, and collective punishment, with accusations frequently stemming from disputed social media posts. The report highlights that these allegations are sometimes baseless and used to harass minorities, seize property, or settle personal disputes, leading to widespread fear and concern, including from India, over the treatment of minorities.
