These cases, spread across over 30 districts, often involved mob violence, vandalism, police action, and collective punishment, with accusations frequently stemming from disputed social media posts. The report highlights that these allegations are sometimes baseless and used to harass minorities, seize property, or settle personal disputes, leading to widespread fear and concern, including from India, over the treatment of minorities.
