A High-Powered Committee (HPC) meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ladakh representatives, including the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance, was held in New Delhi but remained inconclusive. Key demands discussed were statehood for Ladakh, inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, and the release of detained activist Sonam Wangchuk. The government proposed protections under Article 371 and requested a financial viability draft for a legislative assembly. Another meeting is planned to continue talks.
