The Assam government inaugurated an Orchid Park near Kaziranga National Park to boost and retain tourist visits. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted a significant rise in visitors, nearing 100,000, especially after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stay last year. While Kaziranga became India's third most-visited national park with a 35% increase in arrivals, the government aims to extend tourists' stays beyond short safaris to enhance economic benefits. The Orchid Park features over 900 orchid species with plans for expansion.
