Thirteen central leaders of Bangladesh's student-led National Citizen Party (NCP) have resigned over its alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of the February elections. Resigning leaders cited Jamaat's controversial history, lack of transparency, and political compromise within the NCP as reasons. Despite objections from 30 central leaders who submitted a memorandum, Jamaat chief Shafiqur Rahman officially announced the alliance. Some leaders have resigned outright, while others have withdrawn from party activities or criticized the move.
